Rehabilitation After Surgery
For patients who have had orthopedic surgery such as rotator cuff repair, total joint replacement, ACL repair or after a bone fracture set in a cast. I ensure that the correct treatments and post op program are delivered after the surgery by working in close contact with the surgeon.
SPINAL THERAPY—BACK CARE
Spinal complaints are assessed to identify likely causes such as muscle, disc, nerves, ligaments etc and provide appropriate treatment depending on those findings. The techniques selected vary according to the structures injured but could include joint mobilization, manual traction, core strengthening or other exercise. In conjunction with this Jane can offer advice on general back care, posture and long term preventative management.
Sports massage is a term used for a deeper tissue or a remedial massage, and is not just for sporting bodies.
Treatments can be based around problem areas and/or an injury to enhance rehabilitation by helping to improve circulation, assisting removal of waste products and to decrease muscle tension when needed. However it can be used for general relaxation purposes to remove those niggling aches and pains.
Kinesio Taping Method is applied over muscles to reduce pain and inflammation, relax overused tired muscles, and to support muscles in movement on a 24hr/day basis. It is a non-restrictive type of taping which allows for full range of motion.
It can also be used for acute trauma, such as ankle sprain, hematoma and a pulled muscle. Or other conditions such as subluxating patella, rotator cuff injuries, tendinitis, rib injuries, etc
This painless procedure is indicated in post-traumatic and post-surgical tissue adherences with joint limitations, inflammatory pain in tendons, ligaments and muscles. It can be used for the treatment of tendonitis, lumbago, stiff neck, neuralgias, bursitis, etc. The crochets allow great precision in the treatment of deep connective tissue. Thanks to the different crochets calibers, the therapy can be adapted and optimized over the structures to be treated.
RICHELLI PAIN RELIEVER
The Richelli Pain Reliever (RPR) is a tool which allows a great variety of manual therapy and massage techniques. With the RPR it is easier to treat adhesions, connective tissue, muscles, tendons, ligaments, trigger points and muscular insertions. Many of the techniques can be used with the patient clothed or without having to remove the Kinesio Tape or other kind of tape.
