Acupuncture is a tried and tested system of complimentary medicine which has been used to restore, promote and maintain good health for thousands of years. Acupuncture can help with a range of specific illnesses and symptoms as well as treating more general feelings of ill health such as tiredness and low energy.
Acupuncture is often used in conjunction with other therapies and alongside conventional western medicine to promote optimum health and well being.
Some of the conditions for which acupuncture is appropriate include: Headaches; Menstrual Problems; Symptoms of the menopause; Backache; Arthritis; Nausea/Vomiting; Anxiety; Depression; Digestive problems, though there are many more.
Some addictions such as smoking can also be treated though a complete desire to give up is required if treatment is to be effective.
Group Acupuncture
Influenced by traditional Acupuncture clinics, receiving acupuncture in a group raises the frequency of the energy field and invites deeper healing individually and collectively. Before one is invited to participate in a group session, the person meets with Mitra for a private interview session to gather information about their state of being.
The group session takes place over a 3-4 hour period and the participants are scheduled to arrive in intervals of 30 minutes. Mitra meets with each person for a consultation and nutrition guidance and then guides them into the group space to receive the treatment. At a certain point, there may be 4-8 people receiving healing simultaneously, creating a powerful energy field.
Treatments:
The initial treatment will last 1 to 1 1/2 hours. A full history will be taken including current symptoms, other treatments received, medical history, diet, digestive system, sleeping patterns and emotional state. The diagnosis is also made by feeling the pulses and looking at the tongue. A treatment will also be given on the first visit.
Subsequent treatments will last 1 hour.
Treatments are generally given weekly to begin with and then less frequently depending on the condition and response to treatment. Five or six treatments are often needed before improvements are noticed especially if the condition has been longstanding. Cost: $ 30
