About
Yoga
Yoga aims at
attaining a stable mind and a healthy body, so that
personal goals may be achieved. The regular practice of
yoga has been scientifically proven to improve the
efficiency of the cardiovascular, nervous, digestive,
reproductive, and glandular systems as well as the
commonly experienced symptoms of stress, muscular tension
and chronic fatigue.
Yoga works on all
body systems to achieve a harmonious and integrated
whole. It aims to balance the total person - body , mind
and emotions - through movement, breathing, relaxation
and meditation. Practicing yoga is a positive step toward
personal development and taking care of
oneself.
Yoga is for
everyone and can be tailored to your individual
needs. As qualified health professionals we take into account
any health conditions you might have.
Both awareness and
relaxation go hand in hand in Yoga. Awareness is the
human ability to pay close attention to something, to be
consciously present, to be mindful. Without bringing
awareness and relaxation to Yoga, the exercise would be
merely exercises, not yoga. By means of linking breath to
the body in moving and stationary postures, the mind is
connected with the body.
Yoga can be used as
an efficient system of health care, one that has proven
its usefulness both in restoring and maintaining health.
Yoga looks at health from a broad, holistic perspective
that appreciates the enormous influence of the mind -
your psychological attitudes - on physical
health
Yoga originated in
India. The word Yoga comes from the ancient Sanskrit
language spoken by traditional religious elite of India
and means "union". Yoga seeks unity at various levels :
first reconnect mind and emotions to the body enabling
you to live life more fully and with enjoyment. Yoga can
put you in touch with your real feelings and balance your
emotional life. It can help you understand and accept
yourself and feel comfortable with who you are.
Yoga is universally
applicable and does not interfere in a person´s
spiritual, religious and cultural life. It is based on
universal principles shared by many other systems that
have holistic orientation to life.
