Our small herd of two
At Equine Encounters we currently have two horses. One mare and one gelding. For many years we had three horses, however sadly members of our herd have passed away and crossed the rainbow bridge.
Here are some photos and a very short story about each of them. As I wish you to discover the traits and character of each member of the herd, I will not reveal more...

Indiana |
Apollo |
Indiana is Mistinguette's only daughter, born at my barn in May of 2008. She is named after her sire, El Indio, a beautiful black Andalusian stallion.
|
Apollo came to us as a 10 year old, in July of 2020. He was born and bred in Panama and competed a little in Western riding.

Mistinguette |
Cayenne |
Mistinguette was born at my barn in July of 2001. She was named after famous caberet singer and actress Mistinguett who was known for her very long legs and her bright spirit. I think my Mistinguette was exactly like that. She was a very brave mare, and we enjoyed many adventures together. Very sadly she passed away in July 2022, after a severe colic, at age 21.
|
We purchased Cayenne when she was 3 years old, in 2006. She was named after red hot peppers... She was also our champion as you can see in the photo. Cayenne always managed to untie herself or jump the fences.
Cayenne is now with us only in spirit. She passed away after an accident in November of 2017. |
